Fall is here, folks!
This is probably my most favorite time of year. The weather in Arizona finally starts to cool off (even if a little slowly), and the excitement of all the fun holidays ahead kicks in. This cozy "purple" fall photoshoot was the perfect way to kick things off as we welcomed October. It was probably still a little too toasty for a sweater, but we take what we can get here in AZ (lol). Alexia was such a trooper, and delivered ALL the magical autumn vibes.
I spotted this tree last year, and loved the purple-ish color of the leaves. We don't often get these shades of leaves for fall in the Valley (usually more yellow if anything), so I clung to this one tree in my mind, and knew I had to use it for a fall photoshoot eventually. I was so excited to get the opportunity to play with it this year!
On the day of the shoot, the leaves looked a little more reddish in the sunlight, but the rich color was still so stunning. I loved the way the sun backlit them, almost illuminating them and making the colors pop even more!
I brought some seasonal fruit along as well, to try to pull in some more autumn colors. This gorgeous red pear ended up complementing the colors of the tree so well! And it added that extra little seasonal flair.
As the sun went down, we shifted to a simpler backdrop of green (which just shows even more how rare and exciting the "purple" tree was for me lol). With the sun falling behind the trees, we had a softer, blue hour feel. This gave us some dreamy, cooler tones, and set the scene for more "bundled up" vibes.
More fall portrait sessions are in the works, and I can't wait to keep channeling all the cozy energy. But for now, you can find me daydreaming over this session and these colors for the foreseeable future.
